On Easter weekend we went on a day trip to Holland, to this huge garden called the Keukenhof Gardens. It was huge and there were beautiful flowers everywhere! We took Macy with us and she had a lot of fun too. As we were leaving, I asked a gentleman who worked there how to pronounce the name of the Gardens and he said, (in a British accent) "kuoooooo-ken-hof", which we thought was hilarious!

After the Keukenhof we went to a Cheese and Clog farm. I had forgotten to bring the information about where it was, so we just drove in the direction of the Cheese and Clog farm and luckily, we found one!! There were two different Cheese and Clog farms that I knew of in the area and we ended up going to the Irene Hoeve Cheese and Clog farm, which is the one that all the Contiki tours go to :)

After buying some cheese and other little trinkets from the Cheese and Clog farm, we walked over to the little town of Monnickendam and walked around, stopped for a drink and had some dinner. As we were walking around, we were simply mesmerized by how quaint this little town was. It is a fishing town and is on a lake but also has canals running all through it. The houses are typical tall and narrow houses that you see in this region, the streets were cobblestone, and people had beautiful gardens. Many of the houses had their curtains drawn and you could see in their homes and they were all decorated so chic and sophisticated with gorgeous chandeliers and many Easter decorations. They had adorable little shops there as well, such as a dollhouse craft store, a tea shop, and a miniature sail boat making store! We where sad to leave but we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us to get home.
